K9 Fundraiser – Supporting Christmas Joy

Our Purpose

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Foundation is selling stuffed animal replicas of our wonderful K9 Deputies.  The proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to supporting the annual Christmas Joy Program.  Please consider taking one of these precious stuffed animals home!

About the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit has been a full-time unit since 1989. Currently, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has eight K-9 Teams. Six of those teams are trained in narcotics detection, two are trained in explosive detection. All of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office K-9’s go through an intensive and extensive initial training program prior to being released for full service. After the K-9 team’s initial training, they continue their development through weekly training and are required to maintain an annual certification.
